Our Story (Parish History)
Our history is rich with dedicated clergy, parishioners and wonderful stories.  The parish of
Saint Margaret Mary was established on July 4th, 1926 with
the boundaries of the water of the
Ocean, Miller Field, Boundary Avenue, then to Jefferson Avenue.

The first Mass celebrated in Midland Beach goes back 12 years to 1914.  It was held in the
Casino Hotel, on the Midland Beach boardwalk.  From 1914 to 1926, the Midland Beach
community was part of Saint Patrick's parish.

The date of the remodeled Church (1936) is on the building's cornerstone. On October 16th, 2011
we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the remodeled Church.
A Mass of Thanksgiving and
International Food Tasting Luncheon was celebrated.

A Fond Farewell
On April 20th, 2013 we wished Inga & Andrew Avitabile a fond farewell.
After so many years of dedicated  service to St. Margaret Mary's and making so many friends,
Inga and Andy are off to their new home and life in North Carolina.
May God look over them and their family and may they have many wonderful years in the heart of Dixie.
Goodbye Inga & Andy.
We'll miss you!
